The third weekend of October in Cala Rajada is Cap de Setmana de Peix Fresc (Weekend of Fresh Fish). There are festivities all weekend but the highlight is Sunday’s “Mostra de la Llampuga” where e organisers predict that there will be 11,000 Llampuga dishes served to approximately 3,500 visitors!
Llampuga is a seasonal fish in the Mediterranean and is highly prized when it arrives in the autumn. You may have eaten it before in the Caribbean or the US where its know as Dolphin or Mahi Mahi.
Many dishes will be served at the festival on Sunday culminating in a giant Llampuga paella.
Entrance to the exhibition is 4 euros and the dishes cost 2 euros each.
Opening times are midday to 16 h and in the afternoon from 18 to 22 h. (or until supplies last)
